Project Overview

Located in Taipei, the residence over 520 square meters is a place for a couple and their school-age children to live together. In order to take into account the needs of social interaction and privacy of the homeowners, the designer cleverly planned the multi-functional space, KTV room, dining room and other public spaces on one side of the corridor, and the private areas such as the study and bedrooms on the other side to meet the needs of social interaction, and also to ensure that the private areas are not disturbed.

Organisation

BEZALEL

Project Brief

The response to the established layout of this space over 520 square meters is a merged house type. The homeowners take individual privacy quite seriously, so the designer ingeniously planned the space layout setting the entryway in another place and dividing the public and private areas clearly. The owner in this case prefers a luxurious style. Thus, the designer extended the white and gold colors, supplemented by dark tonality, and integrated the titanium-plated metal and stone cutting to lay the splendid theme of the space.

Project Innovation/Need

In the public space, the spacious long table shows the magnificent style of the owner. The irregularly cut bar at the other side of the table shows the exquisite matched grain, the shelf is also designed with delicate light, to make the wine more crystal clear, and also let the luxury feeling cleverly and exquisitely integrate into the daily life of the owner.
In terms of the private area, on the corridor leading to the master bedroom, people can first see the distant art scene. The designer created a hidden door in the form of a sliding door of yellow colored glass; when the door is closed, it can reflect two living room spaces; when it is opened, it can lead to the private space.
According to the social needs of the owners, the designer created a long table that can accommodate many people, and also a specially equipped independent guest bathroom in the KTV room, so that this space can also be used as a small rest place for the guests after the party. And on daily use, the designer also sets a bed on the other side of the study, with the art cabinet as the space partition, to increase more possibilities in the use of the study space.

Design Challenge

How to show the manner and delicacy of the dining room so that the owners feel more comfortable when entertaining the guests was a big challenge in the design. For this, the designer stores the dining structure and light under the stone dining table, and cleverly places the stone material joint at the corner, to make the grain of the whole dining table connected; the bar is also cut to show the precise stone grain matched. By the special design of the connection of grain between the dining table and the bar, the designer creates a magnificent but also delicate style at the same time in the dining room.

Sustainability

When people walk into the living room, the large French window not only ushers in the bright window light but also introduces the outdoor green and abundant sunlight, so that the owner could bathe in the sunshine easily while reducing lighting and heating consumption.
